RSS Information & Help

What is RSS?
RSS is an easy way for you to get automatic updates on websites you visit often. Instead of having to go to websites to see if a new article has been published, you can use RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get the site to tell you every time it has something new. It's known as subscribing to an RSS feed.

The Dating Handbook offers two RSS feeds, one for its dating site reviews and the other for the dating articles. This allows you to subscribe to whichever section interests you most.

How can I make use of RSS?
You need to get hold of a program called a News Reader. This displays RSS information feeds from your chosen websites on your computer. All you then have to do is choose which RSS feeds you want to subscribe to - for instance, an RSS feed of the articles from The Dating Handbook, or news from other sources such as the BBC. You can subscribe to as many RSS feeds as you like.

How do I get a News Reader?
There are a range of different News Readers available, and many of them are free. Different News Readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to take this into account when you make your choice. Online services are also available.

How can I sign up to RSS feeds from the The Dating Handbook?
Click on either / both of the links below which are the RSS feeds from our website. You then need to simply paste the URL for the news feed page you want to subscribe to into your News Reader. The URL is also written by the side of the link for convenience.

Once you've subscribed, every time you run your News Reader program, the program will tell you if there are any new news items that you've not read before in the feeds you've subscribed to, and you will then be able to read the headlines and introduction to each item without having to go to the website. It can save you a lot of time if you read the same websites regularly.
